Illustration Research

Welcome to my blog that will collect my Illustration Research.

'It is the year two thousand and six. But we as people are not yet living in space, contentedly sealed inside massive hollow rings of steel and glass that contain sprawling cities, lush forests and a sufficient supply of healthy livestock, with the whole enclosure rotating upon its axis, and orbiting planets. This was promised to me by the pastelly pages of the science and technology fact books I occasionally flicked through during 1986. They illustrated a future time where ‘our world’ is being run by vast machines monitored by a single processor, a time twenty years away in which our planet The Earth would either be no more (cracked into lifeless pieces by the inevitable collision of a rouge asteroid), or be largely uninhabitable (a thick blanket of polluting fallout from a third world war, possibly nuclear, that blocks the sun, and caustically sours the atmosphere, resulting in a horribly disfigured population forced to survive underground as milky-eyed subterraneans). No. We are still here. We can still drink milk, eat plants and harvest crops.'
